Robert Datum Art Restoration New England
For 17+ years Robert Datum worked at The Chicago Conservation Center alongside esteemed conservators from museum and private practice backgrounds. Here he learned invaluable conservation techniques from all over the world.
Specializing in paintings, Robert has also traveled nationally and internationally treating large scale mural projects. As senior conservator he was responsible for examinations and treatment proposals along with a vast array of technically challenging treatments for the nation’s largest conservation facility.
Robert has attended AIC workshops such as Modular Cleaning Systems and Mastering Inpainting, continuing his studies in materials and chemistry.
In 2014 Robert opened his own private practice in Connecticut where he enjoys meeting with clients and giving them a personal direct line of communication throughout treatments.
Robert is skilled in carpentry and CAD design which has proved to be a valuable asset with problem solving in conservation techniques.
Formally trained with a BFA in painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Robert continues to paint and exhibit his paintings in the New England area. He is a longtime professional associate with the American Institute for Conservation (AIC).
